A Day to Remember from Florida formed in 2003 and are being described as a metalcore/pop-punk/rock band. The bands current line-up include Jeremy McKinnon, Neil Westfall, Josh Woodard, Alex Shelnutt and Kevin Skaff. The band is set to release their new album "Common Courtesy" October the 8th.

An album which have seen a lot of delays. Common Courtesy was announced by the band with a countdown included. Once the countdown hit zero, first single "Violence (Enough Is Enough)" was released. This was back in December and since there's been a lot of speculation when the album actually will be released. On March 18th, Jeremy McKinnon, announced on Twitter that "Common Courtesy is officially tracked! Now, onward to mixing.". Still no official track list.

The band announced Friday night at a show in Michigan that the judge ruled that they could release their album October 8, without Victory. Here is the live video of that announcement.

I’ve been obsessing since they announced it last year as well, lol. I would say that I’ve devoted a good two months of my life to finding news about it and stuff like that. Anyways, I’m really hoping that someone with a really good camera will record Dead & Buried. I really want to decipher the lyrics, and listen to the song in general.

Me too. I’ve been trying to figure out the lyrics with the recordings we have now but it’s not going well. I hope I can learn it before I see them on the 4th.

Video quality isn’t the greatest off course and you may have seen it already but for those who haven’t I feel like this one has the clearest sounding vocals though its still hard to distinguish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGzPNZFIq30

Seems that Jeremy’s coming back with his high-pitched vocals, which disappeared after FTWHH (as in the beginning of Fast Forward), that’s good news !

Not sure, but it’s probably gonna be :

      1) The Wonder Years (they only get to play for like a half hour I’m assuming, which is upsetting since they are better than PTV and ATL in my opinion)
      2) Pierce The Veil
      3) All Time Low
      4) A Day To Remember (I believe they play around 25-30 songs)

I got to go to the private show in LA last night. There was less then 500 people at The Roxy and there was no bar separating you from the stage. Its been since 2007 since i’ve got to be that close. Here is a video i took. Can’t wait for the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDQ46gIMqJI

If they mention CC then yes, if not then no. It’s just album money that’s up in the air right now, image rights and merch and stuff is still agreed according to the contract (of course, I hope ADTR were smart enough to not give up that stuff to the label when they first signed 3,4,5 on the dotted line)

ADTR doesn’t wanna be. But Victory is gonna bank off what they can from them because their a bag of dicks and all they care about is the money and publicity. That’s why they still have their merch, roster, cds, etc. still up.

“Back for more, A DAY TO REMEMBER plans to release Common Courtesy this year, promising to be their most dynamic, powerful album to date. Not ones to disappoint, the band will be on the road with OF MICE & MEN for the Right Back At It Again North American tour, starting March 20th. With a constantly growing fan base, larger than life performances, and unmatched energy, A DAY TO REMEMBER are geared up for a very exciting 2013.” this is on victory’s website. They still promote the album, but they are also trying to stop ADTR from putting it out. I say we burn Victory to the ground!

They want the album out, they just want what they believe to be their contractual share of the funds that come from the album.

The situation is this: Victory won’t give them money for an album until the lawsuit is settled (which would have meant we wouldn’t get CC until at least late 2014). However the band took it into their own hands and paid for the album’s funding out of their own pocket, and recorded it, planning a self release. Then they announced the album and Victory were pissed because they wanted to focus on funding and making CC when the case was over. So the dynamic of the court case changed. It’s still sort of about the funds that ADTR are owed from WSMFY, but also now about whether or not Victory should get any share of the albums sales money, considering they haven’t contributed any money to it.

This is what Jeremy means when he says he wasn’t going to let them sit on his career and ruin it. He knew that if they waited until the court case was over, it would have been ages since they put out new music and the band would no longer be relevant in the scene. He knew the importance of putting out CC ASAP. It has already been 3 years since they put out new music, most bands put out albums every 2 years. The court case isn’t even over, so they wouldn’t have even started recording at this point if they had waited for the case to be over. You’d be looking at about 5 years gap between CC and WSMFY, and that’s just too long for a band at the top of their game and at the best days of their career.

And that’s why I’m taking the October 8th release date with a grain of salt. It’s obvious ADTR wants this album out, but with how crazy it’s already been, who knows what can happen in the next 20 days…

I was just going to say…I don’t understand why they haven’t released a song to us yet (Besides the not completed version of Violence, three months short of a year ago.) Unless Victory has something to do with it, I just don’t understand. I really love Right Back at it Again. Even if they just released that to us I would be content until October 8th. Either way though, not trying to complain. I just think we all have been patient long enough, come on! lol

Sorry if this was already mentioned, (there are so many comments I just didn’t want to read through all of them) but Jeremy answers almost all of the fans questions in an interview with alternative press. If you haven’t already, you should check it out. It was wonderful to actually hear something from the band themselves about what is going on and why its taking so long. Here’s a link: http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/im_not_going_to_let_someone_sit_on_my_career_and_ruin_our_album_jeremy_mcki and if that doesn’t work it’s on the bands twitter page

I am sadly convinced that this is true… There is obviously something preventing them to release the tracklist etc…, and it will be the 2nd of October that we’ll know the informations, I think
Maybe the webisode with the paperboard was a hint about the actual tracklisting ! ^^

Yeah.. Because even if they warn that the album isn’t probably coming on the 10/8, the only thing that people are going to recall is the good news. so they’d be double f**ked if Victory win and CC is delayed…
And if it is delayed after 10/8, I’m afraid that it could be veeeeeeeeeeeeery long before the record is out
