During the 2013 MTV VMA's, Eminem announced the release of his upcoming album, MMLPII. It will be the sequel to his 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be the rapper's eighth studio album by American rapper Eminem and will be released through Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. Production for the album took place during 2011 to 2013, at several recording studios and was handled by various record producers, including himself, Rick Rubin, No ID and Dr. Dre.

Royce da 5'9" appeared on RapFix with his group Slaughterhouse, on August 30, 2012, and talked about what he has heard of the album in the moment. Royce told: "I'm not so sure how the world is going to respond from some of the things that I've heard from him". He also noted that the things he has heard gave him nightmares. Needles to say, this is one of the most anticipated albums of 2013.

Opinions have been split down the middle regarding the two first singles, Berserk and Survival. Listen to Survival below, which also features on the video game soundtrack for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The track list, which can be found below, reveals the album is going to feature Skylar Grey, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Nate Ruess.

I hate these comments… almost all of them. Specially the whole Relapse vs. Recovery thingy. They were both great albums, just different styles and the thing you should understand is that it’s a MATTER OF TASTE. btw, everyone’s a critic. To those who say Relapse was shit, go fVck yourselves, and to those who say Recovery was a commercial shit, you can go fVck yourselves as well. If MMLP2 doesn’t live up to YOUR expectations, then don’t buy/download it and go fVck yourselves, case closed.

an album with kanye’s base production and eminem voice and lyrics could be the history of hip-hop gem. Too shit Kanye made an album with jay fucked Z and not with Em. however survival is a shit and berserk is Amazing and rap god kinda great. but survival shit. the production is so horrible and cheap.

What annoys the hell out of me are these stans saying “well I’ve been a fan of Eminem since Infinite” like it gives you some sort of entitlement and makes you an expert on his music. Anyone can go back and listen to the damn album so shut the hell up, like you’re better than everyone else.

I hope to see more than one or two Dre productions on here, say what you will about the lyrics and rapping on Relapse, but it’s definitely the best produced Eminem album, and that’s because Dre produced every song except Beautiful (IMO, the worst song on Relapse). So far, we haven’t had a Dre production, and that’s why everyone’s saying it doesn’t sound like old Eminem, cause we need Dre and the Bass Brothers and Luis Resto back! :D

Em hasnt had a good album in years. Relapse and recovery were straight trash not even worth listening to. I hope to see the old slim shady back with crazy controversial lyrics that go hard

This album most likely won’t leak at all. There are no digital copies from the Studio. He’s doing everything the old fashioned way to keep things air tight.

By now its being pressed and sent to retailers. Sure, you can make sure nobody in the studio leaks it, but what about the thousands of employees that deal with its release. Some dude in a Walmart warehouse could open the case, rip the songs and close it back. I think we will have it sometime before Halloween.

All that does is eliminate any chance of a leak BEFORE the CDs are pressed. Way back when albums could leak a month or more in advance if people weren’t careful where the put the digital files/who had access to them or emails or whatever. But as soon as the physical CDs are pressed in the warehouses across the world and shipped out to stores to sell (usually a week or two before the release date), anything is fair game. Smaller shops could sell early, international shops may not care about strict release date policies, an employee could take the cd from the warehouse or a shipping truck, etc. All it takes is one

Press copies won’t be handed out until day of release, so there will not be a leak unless someone gets their pre-order early. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for that though, sorry guys.

it could leak but it would only be a couple of days before the release, this is because when they are shipping out the CDs someone could get hold of a copy, rip it and leak it

Anyone who thinks “Relapse” is in his top 5 is just a challenged Em fan. Marshall himself, admits it was his worst album. There were hints of him within some of those songs but he didn’t sound anything like any of the other albums.

    MMLP2 will be a top 3 album.

obviously relapse is gonna sound different from his other stuff because of the situation he was in when he made it and the fact that he made it alot darker than his other stuff, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad album because all of his albums good, yes some might be better than others but Relapse is a masterpiece, thats just your opinion that it sucks and just because Eminem said it doesn’t mean that everyone else should follow along like sheep does it? everyone has a right to an opinion just because you disagree doesn’t mean that anyone who puts relapse in their top 5 is a “challenged fan”, it just means they happen to like it more than some other people!

    Rap God – 6/10
    Survival – 4/10
Kind of worried.. Survival alone makes this album unworthy of the MMLP2 name.

At this point in his career, his legacy is secure. Let’s not forget, he is universally respected in an industry that thrives on “beef”. Game said it best…Nobody fucks with the whiteboy because he shreds. To date, the only time Jay-Z has ever been willing to play second fiddle was with Eminem at the Home & Home tours. When the majority of hiphop artists state that he is one of the greatest of ALL TIME, maybe they say it because it’s true. Love Jay-Z, love Kanye West, but them two can watch the throne while Eminem sits on it.

Do you really think an artist leaks his own album? It is always leaked by someone selling or shipping the album or something like that.
