During the 2013 MTV VMA's, Eminem announced the release of his upcoming album, MMLPII. It will be the sequel to his 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be the rapper's eighth studio album by American rapper Eminem and will be released through Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. Production for the album took place during 2011 to 2013, at several recording studios and was handled by various record producers, including himself, Rick Rubin, No ID and Dr. Dre.
Royce da 5'9" appeared on RapFix with his group Slaughterhouse, on August 30, 2012, and talked about what he has heard of the album in the moment. Royce told: "I'm not so sure how the world is going to respond from some of the things that I've heard from him". He also noted that the things he has heard gave him nightmares. Needles to say, this is one of the most anticipated albums of 2013.
Opinions have been split down the middle regarding the two first singles, Berserk and Survival. Listen to Survival below, which also features on the video game soundtrack for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The track list, which can be found below, reveals the album is going to feature Skylar Grey, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Nate Ruess.

It would be awesome if before the song Moster there would be a skit where Em walks in Steve Bermnan’s office and he says that ‘we need to sell and promote the album with a pop-rap song with Rihanna’. After that The Monster kicks in.
Why do u guys have to trash all of em’s stuff personally i think that everyone of his albums are original and amazing (excluding infinite, but it was his first album and still alright) and how do u say that relapse and recovery are complete trash when they both won a Grammy.
Just because it is called the MMLP2 does not mean it is like the first album. Eminem himself even said he knew it was a bold move to name it that because people were gonna think it was gonna be like the first he said its not gonna be like the first one, hes not gonna continue the songs like part 2 of the songs or something. He is just gonna do what he does best and all of his real fans will appreciate anything he puts out.

i liked berzerk, rap god was phenominal. survival was w.e.. The monster was a lame attempt at mainstream attention with a lazy unmotivated hook.. ems verses always on point but he doesnt need that look bec its em..anything he raps will sell, usually.
i rly think he should of named it something else.. mmlp2 will give it unreasonable expectations.

People need to realize this isn’t a sequel like a lot of people are thinking. He’s not gonna have that same sound, he’s not continuing on any of the songs on that album. This is a re-visitation of that album. He named it MMLP2 because this is about Marshall again. People need to manage their expectations, I still think this album is gonna be dope, and instead of bashing everything, critiquing every little detail, just enjoy the music. We’re never going to get that old Eminem from 2000-2002. Not going to happen, get over it.

How are you guys saying Eminem is not the same. Obviously from Survival and if you’ve watch 8 mile you know that Eminems only option is to make music to live. So if hes trying to get the most money out of his line of work. let him do so. You cant tell him to make an album that sounded like it was from the 90’s and expect it to sell good.
