Damon Albarn has finally set the date for his solo debut. "Everyday Robots" will be released on April 28th. Tracklist is available below. The album is produced by XL records Richard Russell and was recorded in Albarn's own studio in London. There are two main guest features on the album; Brian Eno and Natasha Khan from Bat for Lashes.
The first track from the album, which also happens to be the title track, is added below. The song loops the sample we got to hear in the short teaser clip earlier this year and the video is a CGI animation directed by Aitor Throup.
While Albarn has released experimental records outside of his Gorillaz and Blur ventures, this is his first proper major debut album. And it's one of the most anticipated release and album leak this spring for Albarn, Gorillaz, Blur and indie fans alike.
I love Blur and Gorillaz so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this.
I hope he’s finally focussed. He released so many projects the past few years, most of which were interesting (Rocket Juice and the Moon for instance), but certainly no classics. Two years ago he produced 4 albums (including that Bobby Womack one), but I hope in 2013 he found the time to make a classic record once more! Bring it on!
My favorite quality of Damon Albarn is that he knows how to effortlessly transcend music genres. He has produced such wonderful music with all sorts of moods, sounds, tempos, effects. I really appreciate that in a musician/artist, no one trick ponies!
the digital era is so depressing

Inside of Blur’s genius mind lies a gorilla. Inside of that gorilla we can find 2-D and inside of 2-D we see Damon Albarn, this is what a peek into the mind of Damon feels like.
