Hope & Chance started in 2012 when two dissolved Birmingham bands came together in a pursuit of a more serious and interesting sound with a bias towards heavier music.
Drummer Shane Kiely says, “The band had to be less formulaic than all the ‘metalcore’ bands that are around at the minute – we didn’t want to replicate any existing sound because we knew we could create something unique and interesting with a sound that will appeal to more than just niche groups without selling its soul – we wanted that mass pop appeal with a much harder edge”. Sharing a similarity with Scottish favourites Biffy Clyro mixed with new metalcore ala We Came As Romans their sound has a crisp melodic basis with some brutal twists and turns.
Hope & Chance signed with independent part-arts funded ‘MAS records’ in 2012 which helped bring them to an extreme level of creative freedom and they have since dominated internet radio stations and internet social media with their music creating an incredible hype in such a short time.
Hope & Chance have since played with Emma Scott (Kerrang), New Zealand power-house band I Am Giant and have had their music played on various international stations and media outlets with some more exciting (huge!) announcements to follow.
Set to refresh rock music like Breaking Bad refreshed American drama TV, Hope & Chance are a name that will be appearing more and more in your friends playlists.
Hope & Chance release their next single ‘Sinking Ship’ electronically everywhere on May 1 2014 with a full length to follow.
With the newest addition to the line up, Scott Kiely on second guitar - Hope & Chance look to move forward into a new era and continue to progress and grow into an outstanding live and recorded group of artists, each adding their own talent and mindset into their music.
