Born in Gambia this on the rise Swedish singer is gaining recognition and fame on the blogoshpere and on the charts. Seinabo scored a No.1 on Hype Machine and Shazam with her debut Swedish release, 'Younger' and now has an amazing five Hype Machine No. 1's. Her rich alto voice set's her apart from many pop artists of the day and her socially conscious tunes are
a gripping listen. Seinabo's music uses impressive echo, drum, synth, and electronic beats and effect to spark the music making it stimulating and dynamic to listen to.
Sey grew up in what could be described as a chaotic, creative household in Sweden to where she moved from Gambia with her mother and late father, the renowned West African musician, Mawdo Sey. Much of her music echoes her experiences of growing up as a young Gambian woman in Sweden. "I've had to live between two different cultures where you don't really feel you belong anywhere and you have to understand people first to make them understand you," she says.
A truly unique individual, the politically minded Sey infuses her songwriting with a socially conscious slant, propelling pop music beyond the instantly dispensable; this is pop music with meaning.
Sey previously worked and collaborated with Frank Nobel (the pair went under the name Def Chronic).
