The Black Keys is an American rock duo formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001. The group consists of Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). The duo began as an independent act, recording music in basements and self-producing their records, before they eventually emerged as one of the most popular garage rock artists during a second wave of the genre's revival in the 2010s. The band's raw blues rock sound draws heavily from Auerbach's blues influences, including Junior Kimbrough and Robert Johnson.
Really edgeless album, surprisingly underwhelming. The first song is kind of the best
I’m actually surprised by the album. After El Camino I honestly didn’t know what to expect from them. I was hoping for something like they did in the old days, not that their new approach to music was bad or anything, but this album really gives me good vibes, and that’s exactly the thing I’ll remember them for, giving me good vibes. Especially the last couple of tracks. It’s a shame it’s such a short album, only 11 songs to listen to after a good two years of waiting… :(
Excellent album. I love more than half already. Heard the whole thing a couple times. Wasn’t planning on getting this or hearing it other than radio airplay, but the leak and iTunes First Listen really got me going. When I have the spare cash I’m going to pick up the cd.
