Gardens & Villa have made a new album, 'Music for Dogs'. The album will be released in August of this year. 'Music For Dogs' is a deeply personal album that pokes, prods, and even strangely celebrates the zeitgeist of music commerce, pleasure culture, technological advances and the new home they’ve found in Los Angeles. The artwork is from the Japanese release, but English versions of the title will be included in the new album release.

“Fixations” is the single that has recently been available for their fans to enjoy a slice of their new music. However, following their work on a soundtrack for the movie, The Comedy, Gardens & Villa have been working on an album that expresses their creativity and passion for what they love to do. “Fixations,” a song about the beauty in bottoming out and then finding the false bottom and where the song reflects the album’s personal touch on the bands new life in California. “My whole life fixation/See if we can make it underneath the radar,” goes Lynch and Rasmussen’s respective call-and-response. Both Lynch and Rasmussen responded by bucking the idea of “art as a career” and making art their very way of life. The new album is a comment on the symbiotic nature of Charles and Ray’s marriage, their work life in Venice Beach, their home life not too far away from any California hot spots along the city inhabitants of Los Angeles.

Despite setbacks like moving the heart of their work from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles, the music duo does not shy away from explaining the transitions and their devotion to their music within the album. What was once a warehouse space in LA’s Frogtown neighborhood is now Space Command and its shared with visual artists, designers, and creatives, the pair began to live and write music on their own terms, just as they’d done before their music was placed “on the marketplace.”
