Fans of Royce Da 5’9″ are patiently waiting for his next album 'Layers' to drop, but Royce has announced he is dropping an EP first.
The EP was revealed alongside a new track, Savages, which comes just weeks after he dropping the lead single for Layers called “Tabernacle.” The Detroit-born rapper explained his reasoning for the EP when he talked to The FADER.
“My original concept was to release a b-side record to coincide with the release of ‘Tabernacle,’” Royce told the publication earlier this month. “But it turned into an entire EP that was inspired by a photo my man JD took at the ‘Tabernacle’ video shoot. Trust The Shooter is his brand and we both thought it would be dope to give fans all new music not available on the album.”
Layers is out April 15, and Trust The Shooter EP will be out 'before that'.
