Camila Cabello is a Cuban-American singer and songwriter and former member of Fifth Harmony who decided to pursue a solo career in December 2016. Although initially announced as "The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving", Camila's now eponymous debut solo album is set to be released on January 12th, 2018 after being delayed by half a year.

I had a friend and we were so close. Then it was like literally a day after, we didn’t even know each other anymore. It was weird. I saw the person I initially wrote it about at this thing. I just went into the bathroom. It was like a movie. I was just crying. Then I came out into the social gathering thing and I was just pretending like nothing was wrong. I just needed to let that situation go. I was just kind of like, ‘I’m over talking about this. I’m over having this album that is me, just like be credited to this person.’ I can’t talk about that anymore because I need to just move on from this. I need to forgive that situation, it’s not about you anymore. It’s about me. Camila also said that she decided to call it by her name, because this is where a chapter in her life ended. It started with somebody else’s story, it ended with me finding her way back to herself.
