“The Amanuensis”, MONUMENTS’ sophomore album and follow up to 2012’s critically acclaimed “Gnosis” is scheduled for a release on the following dates:

“The Amanuensis”, at least the title, was inspired by author David Mitchell’s novel, “Cloud Atlas”. The complex story lines are the perfect analog for MONUMENTS. Musically, the group weave in and out of themes, motifs, and professor-like note calculations with graceful ease. But lyrically “The Amanuensis” comes from a very different place. “The album is about the Samsara cycle,” reveals Browne (guitar). “The cyclical existence of life that we are all bound to.”
I, The Creator sounds badass as hell, his vocals really have improved loads. This is gonna be a good album.
Well actually, it’s not the same guy! On the first album it was Matt Rose and now it’s Chris Barretto. It’s a good and bad thing at the same time because I really liked Matt’s singing but Chris Barretto is also super awesome. Check out Ever Forthright if you want to hear more of that guy!
Ah no wonder I like it then, I’ve heard Chris Barretto’s work from back when he was in Periphery. I didn’t realise Chris replaced Matt, I’m obviously not very up to date with what’s going on with this band. Definitely look more into it thanks.
