It was only last year Charli XCX released her album True Romance but she's already readying her new full length release. Sucker is set for October 21 and we've already got a taste in form of Break The Rules. It's a single which is heavy on '90s beats and with an indie/pop-punk chorus. Even Pitchfork is on board on this album, while some might think of her as more commercial than underground and hipster cool.

all i wished for was that ‘boom clap’ was not on the tracklist. it’s such an awful song… she could have gone with ‘superlove’ instead.
Charli performed some unreleased tracks live recently. Song titles like “Famous”, “Caught In The Middle”, and “Sucker”. I wonder if she’ll change the tracklist…
might be a deluxe version coming out?

eh. my issue with this now is. i feel like she forgot about anyone who listen to her before. The lyrics seem really done down. catchy, but .. really dumb.
This album definitely seems to have more of a main-stream feel so I guess it’s not surprising that her lyrics took a hit. I that the songs we haven’t heard yet will keep some of the charm from her earlier releases. Either way I’m excited to hear the entire thing!

my only nip pick is ..loads of songs seem to be under 3 minutes. i hope we get some long ones.
i’ve a fear she’s gone too far on the side of a stereotypical-target-public-of-14-year-old-girls on the released songs. i mean, break the rules is a bit dumb, but ok; gold coins is good; breaking up is kinda “meh”… but boom clap is annoying, as is london queen. i know it’s kind of the direction she stated for this album, but i really hope the other songs have a little bit more depth (or at least aren’t annoying).
i want the album, but i feel like the first week of listening to it, ill be bored. you don’t want her to fail, but you don’t want her to keep doing this.. it feels so cheaply done. only song she did amazing was kingdom on the hunger games album.
The tracks “Die Tonight”, “Famous”, and “Caught In The Middle” have all leaked
i like them all more the the ones she released . die tonight is a lot more caughty then breaking up and break the rules.
this leak is clean, not explicit -__- other than that this album is fantastic and meets expectation!
