Juicy J discusses Wale's shot at him when he angrily called Complex about their year-end albums list, as well talks about "The Hustle Continues."
Juicy J is edging into mainstream popularity, with strip club anthems that spread like wildfire, and a notable feature on Katy Perry's hit single "Dark Horse." The rise in his stock comes with an increase in his fan base, as those who are unfamiliar with Three 6 Mafia discover the rapper as a solo artist alone. The rapper spoke on how busy he is these days in a new interview with The Breakfast Club, as well, he talked about Wale's infamous phone call to the offices of Complex, where he called out them for the year-end list lacking The Gifted but containing Stay Trippy-- a shot at Juicy J, it seemed.
Nontheless, Juicy was in good spirits concerning his relationship with Wale, when asked about it by the Power 105 crew.
"Yeah, I talked to Wale. Man, he good. It’s all good, dog," Juicy J said . "I don’t have beef with nobody, man. I’m a chill guy. Y’all see me. I’m getting money, man. Wale good. That’s my homie. You know what I’m saying? They just had him on—they recorded him. You gotta watch these magazine people, man…Like I said, I’m a O.G., man. I don’t—Beef is in the streets…But that’s my homie, man. At the end of the day, man, like I said they just—he was frustrated about some things. It’s all good…Nah, she good, man. I love Gangsta Boo, man. Nah, she good. Everything great."
Moving on from Wale, Juicy discussed his forthcoming album The Hustle Continues (which he says is already 90% done), and how he's matured since Stay Trippy.
As for if the album will have features, the Memphis native says it'll be mainly him. "Nah, because I got a lot to say on this album, man. You know what I’m saying? I been doing this for so long, so I got a story to tell. It’s like I gotta tell ‘em where it all began and where it is now. But I been doing this for so long, man. You know what I’m saying? So, I’m just taking advantage of everything, man… On The Hustle Continues it’s gonna be more like from six people living in a two-bedroom apartment to where I am now. So, it’s like a motivation. It’s gonna have some trippy stuff on there, but it’s gonna be more motivation and just talking about what went on with the group [and] everything."
