PJ Harvey has announced her new album, The Hope Six Demolition Project. The follow-up to 2011's Let England Shake will be released on April 15. The first single, "The Wheel", premiered today on Steve Lamacq's show on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Last fall, she debuted 10 new songs as part of a multimedia show in London with photographer/filmmaker Seamus Murphy: "Chain of Keys," "The Wheel," "The Orange Monkey," "Dollar Dollar," "The Community of Hope," "Homo Sappy Blues," "Medicinals," "Near the Memorials to Vietnam and Lincoln," "River Anacostia," and "The Ministry of Social Affairs."
FINALLY!
Can’t wait <3
Really looking forward to this album. My excitement is at an all time high! Hope it leaks soon, not sure if I can last another 11 days!
Leak pls.
As much as I want this to leak immediately so I can listen to it, I remain impressed that it hasn’t yet, pretty rare these days, so close now I may just wait, just like the old days!
I feel the same..but I’m dying for it! Lol but yeah really impressive. I’m sure the album will be beautiful, rich and layered. An album that gets better with each listen and lasts a long time.
A mere twelve hours – here in the UK – before its official relate date and no leak reported! And a good browse around confirms this too, despite numerous reviews cropping up over the last week or so. I rarely eagerly new albums any more but I’d be amazed if this happens much these days.
The record company, et al., did a cracking job of keeping this one under wraps. Good on them.
A good album for anyone else, but maybe the worst of her career…
