I’ve got a quick question. What is the point of the whole points system? I know I get 20 every time I make a post, and I get one when I log in each day, but do they actually count for anything?September 6, 2011 at 7:44 pm #820
Yup, collecting points makes you level up. For example, as a power user you’ll get the ability to change an album from sealed to leaked without any other user confirming the leak.
Update: Here’s a list of things which will get you points, and the different member levels.January 12, 2012 at 4:09 am #1972Robert TookerParticipant@xxmanbearxxLevel 1

I say change this:
5 Points – Commenting an album
20 Points – Posting an album
it means that if i post an album and then add the track list as comment i get 25 points in stead of 20. Also, it creates a lot of work because every comment has to be checked out by an admin. To prevent spam, allow only 1 post per 30 seconds and take of the point system on comments.
Add points to people who write reviews of new albums in the forum. Around 10 per review is a nice way to get people talking :)February 29, 2012 at 11:59 am #3340
I’ve never seen anyone posting an album and then the tracklist as a comment to gain the extra 5 points.
And not every comment has to be checked by an admin, if you’ve posted two comments which were approved, you’ll get automatically approved (if it doesn’t contain a link).
And there’s an anti-spam system in place which prevents people from commenting that frequently.
You’re right about reviews – I’ll make sure to add that!March 8, 2012 at 1:28 pm #3708Pablo PinheiroMember@pebejantschLevel 3

Except for fame and fortune, you’ll be considered to be upgraded to editor/moderator – Which includes special privileges.April 13, 2012 at 5:17 am #4835AustinParticipant@audiobingeLevel 6
