It’s been almost 7 years now since their last album, hasn’t it? They’ve been saying they are in the studio for 2 years, a little ridiculous if you ask me. Anyone know more about them?December 10, 2012 at 11:06 pm #13116
Supposedly Danny Carey has been working on a lot of material, when that’s finished they’ll actually go into the studio to record. Plus with Maynard being very busy with Puscifer and his crazy wine business, that requires more time to be set aside. Apparently Maynard and Billy Howerdel will start releasing APC singles as well, only singles though due to the fact that they sell more than entire albums. But Tool is suppose to have an album come out next year, but who knows.December 11, 2012 at 9:37 pm #13157
I know Maynard has a lot on his plate, but you would think he’d put his first success on top of his priorities. “an album come out next year”….Lol I stopped leaning on those words, they have said that a few times in the past years, and too many people say it all the time. I really don’t feel like people are rushing Tool to do this, they’ve had 7 years. With or without Maynard being busy, it should be closer to being done than just Danny doing some material…..Oh well..January 10, 2013 at 11:04 pm #14249
I hope they release a new album this year, I’ve heard something around like their are doing some recording soon. It will be sick, can’t wait.February 6, 2013 at 12:49 am #15143

I have very little hope for a new Tool album this year. I’m a big fan of everything from Saliva up to 10,000 Days, and have been for a long time. I love A Perfect Circle as well. I’ve seen both live in the past two years, and I’ve concluded that Maynard just doesn’t give a damn. He doesn’t actually care about his music anymore, and he most certainly doesn’t care about his fans. At this point– with all lack of interest in Tool, seeing a new album probably would be a bad thing. It probably wouldn’t be worth the hype of the last half decade it’s had. Look at how many failed albums have come out that had high expectancy. I dunno guys.February 26, 2013 at 11:55 pm #15747
If Maynard says “no Tool album,” I take that to mean that he just doesn’t want to work on a new Tool album and therefore there won’t be one until he feels like working on it.
Personally, I’m hoping the other bands members are able to convince him to figure it out, but I wouldn’t count on it.
